I recieved this info from one of my sources and it is to be kept only on this board!
Speculation is starting to swirl in the Land of Leprechauns and Gold helmets that Jimmy Clausen is in fact an ND silent verbal and they are waiting to officially announce sometime soon after national signing day so everything goes smoothly with Frazer and Jones. In an earlier post I mentioned that we may have two other silent verbals also. Not knowing this info on Clausen until just recently, I learned those two to be Ben Martin and Josh Oglesby. I know everyone knows about Oglesby but if ND has landed Martin that could be huge. ND was Martins first offer and sources say he jumped at it. Martins high school coach was recently heard to be talking up Rick Minter saying they are good friends and he has the utmost respect for coach Minter and Notre Dame. Coach Minter developed a very good relationship with this young man's head coach while himself head coach of the Bearcats and recruiting some of his kids! Having watched Martin play, imagine a young Courtney Brown while still at Penn State. A chiseled 6'5 220lbs frame with room to add weight and 4.5 forty speed! Please keep this info exclusive to this board and this board only! All speculation right now but where there is smoke there's always......Weis!

:D GREAT BG:
I wouldn't put much worry on the part about Frazer or Jones.
Martin is now that I know where he came from and you mentioned Minter 1,000 percent GOLD and BLUE. :D
It's no secret the recruiting pipelines ND had dried up.Holtz was leaving recruiting to assistants his latter years and Davie etc.....That Ohio are welcomed Minters return to ND. There's deep respect among the HS Coaches around there for Minton. It's a bond of brothers.
No small part is Minter as HC of Cincy had to battle with recruiters from ND, Ohio State, Michigan and all those powers with big time recruiting budgets. With what resources he had he didn't do all that bad at Cincy.

thanks for the huge news BG. It won't leave the DD. Ben Martin would be a monster of a catch for ND.

Thanks for the scoop BG Tom. Love this board, and my mouth will remain shut. Obviously next year will be a good year for us on the field. Another year or two of this (dare I say National Championship), and the assistant coach exodus may begin. This is my fear, but I know it is inevitable with successful teams (i.e. Norm Chow - USC). Of course, CW knows the ropes and will hold on to Minter and the others as long as possible, but I hope recruiting stays as hot as it is now after the inevitable departure a couple of years from now. Cheezz . . . how's that for bringing a board with good news down! Sorry. Don't mind me fellas, I'm like an old woman who worries about everything well before it happens - I've sought professional help, but the therapist was a Michigan fan so I keyed his car. Yes, I have issues, one being that I love Notre Dame way too much (so says the wife). Oh well, have a great Christmas guys.

Great eams always loose coaches it part of the game. My hope is taht this staff stays together as long as possible to ensure that ND is completly back. Once we start loosing coaches I am confident that Weis has a capable replacement for that coach.

Champion10,
Thanks for the welcome!!
I believe , based on everything that he has done so far, that CW has a plan for if/when coached leave the staff. I would imagine that he already had the plan just in case it had happened (or still may happen) this off season.
I do, like many others, hope that this staff stays together to get ND another Nat'l Chmpionship!!
Go IRISH!!
