As we all sit and ponder the new depths and changes made, one thing remains the same. No one has a clue what is going to happen this year. The metamorphosis that can happen with an offensive line is undeniable, and like a domino-effect the rest will follow. If they can be a cohesive unit, then look out. If not, then it will be another long winter.

Notre Dame put a chapter of its great Football history to and end. Now the Irish have to move on and do it quickly. Charlie Weis and his staff had a tough season. The Irish were very young this past season my feeling is that the coaching staff had to put a lot of young players that were not ready to be on the field right away. In the end that’s going to help the Irish in the future but it didn’t help them in 2007.

Bad teams winning against great teams, great teams losing to bad teams. Unknowns becoming known, and knowns becoming unknown. Coaches lying to players and players lying to coaches. Crimes merging from players to coaches back to players. Predictions or forecasts turn into nightmares and crumble along the wayside. Analysts calling out coaches and coaches calling out analysts. Lou Holtz giving a pep talk to Navy. Stability is no longer a word just a sub-word in instability. Teams blowing out teams, yet not making it past those teams into a major bowl. Illinois becoming a good team. A player getting bit by a dog in the end zone. The world is clearly upside down. College football has turned mad. These are the days in which we need to return to our roots. In order for there to be sense in all of this nonsense, there needs to be a foundation in which to build.

So here we are Irish fans, the day after next. We've all awaken to a new day and a new team. Transition is the passing or change from one place, condition, style to another. In Laymen's Terms, we're obviously not, the 2 prior years, anymore. So what are we? Do you know? Does anyone? But that's part of transition! Do you know what could come next? Now, to be able to reasonably speculate on our future, we have to look at the facts.

I have been a Notre Dame fan since 1968. My family had just moved here from Israel and we were settled into our humble apartment in Miami Florida. I was just 5 years old and a couple of months from my sixth birthday.
