Why Irish Fans Shouldn’t worry too much after potential rough start

Georgia Tech running back Tashard Choice rushed for a career-high 196 yards, Demetrious Jones had 2 fumbles, Evan Sharpley entered the game and was sacked seven times, only 122 yards of total offense, rushing yardage in the negatives…it goes on and on and oh yeah the final score was 33-3 Georgia Tech the victor. And with road games against Penn State, Michigan, and UCLA on the horizon, its time for Irish fans to start a panic frenzy right? Well not yet…

Remaining Recruiting Targets

Notre Dame has had a dream season in recruiting, 19 commitments and the consensus number one class. Corwin Brown has done an amazing job. While the 19 commitments are actually one more that the Irish brought in last year, there is still room for more. The most Charlie Weis and his staff could take would be 26, but that wouldn't leave any room for 5th year seniors. Most people think that Notre Dame will bring in 22-24 players and I agree.

Wow. Simply wow. If you had told me prior to Saturday that the Irish would end up on the short end of the 33-3 stick, I might have had you committed to the Hold Me I’m Irish Hall of Fame. And I do mean committed. Needless to say that’s what happened. As Irish fans we can take solace in knowing that Appalachia State beat the team up North.
