Theo Riddick, a junior running back at Immaculata, is expected to make a verbal commitment this afternoon to Notre Dame, according to sources close to him. The sources requested anonymity because Riddick had not made an official announcement yet. He will do so at a press conference scheduled at Immaculata in Somerville.

Notre Dame finished ahead of finalists Rutgers, West Virginia, Maryland and Pittsburgh. Riddick will play for Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis, who graduated from Middlesex High School in 1974 and coached at Franklin before embarking on a career during which he worked for the Giants and New England Patriots.
Riddick set the Immaculata record for touchdowns in a season with 23 as a sophomore, leading the team to a 12-0 mark and the NJSIAA Non-Public Group 3 title. He was named The Star-Ledger's Somerset County Player of the Year and finished with 1,352 yards.
As a junior, the 5-11, 190-pound Riddick, ranked a four-star recruit (out of five) by rivals.com, was hampered by an ankle injury but finished with 1,192 yards with 13 touchdowns in 10 games. He was named First Team All-Non-Public after the Somerville school lost to Holy Spirit of Absecon in the Non-Public Group 3 final and finished No. 6 in The Star-Ledger Top 20.
He is the school's all-time leader in touchdowns with 36.
Riddick also played a pivotal role as the point guard when the Immaculata boys basketball team captured its first state title, claiming the NJSIAA Non-Public A championship this past winter.
As a running back, Riddick combines speed with great lateral movement. His strength is at the point of contact, where he is able to shed tacklers and get into an opponent's secondary.
